– SONIC AND EXPERIMENTAL ARTS
Like the song of a bird. Czirp czirp acts through nomadic cultural and ephemeral events. It is an independent and non-profit cultural project that supports, produces and communicates experimental music, sound and digital art.
Our aim is to present artistic approaches that echo current developments in digital technologies. We want to critically reflect on the use of new media, computer code and algorithmic process, and encourage participatory concepts to share this engagement with a broader public. Transient mediums like music, video, performance and happenings aid to embed approaching technological, social and environmental challenges to a discursive setting.
The project is run by a group of artists and academics from various fields. It serves as platform to open vibrant scenes from un-institutionalized and experimental artistic practices to next generations of young intellectuals and culturally engaged people. We equally seek to address sections of the population alien to the art world. Therefore, we do not limit our activities to any age group or social affiliation. Events take place barrier-free.
Aware of art and culture’s feature to entrain and act fundamental community structures, czirp czirp’s agenda wants to involve all backgrounds and genders. We think of czirp czirp as social and connecting tool that directs key questions in culture and wants to develop sustainable strategies for the future.

Der Verein czirp czirp – sonic and experimental arts ist eine Veranstaltungsplattform, die sich auf die Präsentation von zeitgenössischen Protagonist*innen im Bereich der audiovisuellen Kunst spezialisiert. Seit nunmehr 2009 tätig, hat czirp czirp unterschiedliche Formate umgesetzt. In jüngster Zeit richtete sich der Focus auf Positionen der elektronischen Musik und experimentellen Komposition, Sound-Art und Medienkunst.
Wie das Zwitschern eines Vogels positioniert sich czirp czirp als ephemeres Ereignis und sucht mit der gemeinsamen Arbeit unterschiedlicher Partner*innen immer wieder neue Settings und Zuhörer*innen zu erschließen. Es geht darum, die Vielstimmigkeit heutiger künstlersicher und musikalischer Praxis zu vermitteln. Wir möchten generations-, kultur- und schichtenübergreifend Zugang zu zeitgenössischer Kunst ermöglichen sowie die Teilnehme an deren Debatten anregen.
Inhaltlich greift czirp czirp Themen wie Digitalisierung, den Nutzen und die Gefahren neuer Medien, außerinstitutionelle Formate, Clubkultur sowie soziale und ökologische Themen auf. Aus dem Verständnis heraus, dass Kunst Gesellschaft stiftendes Potential hat, möchten wir Veranstaltungen barrierefrei gestalten und legen wert auf eine hochwertige technische und organisatorische Umsetzung.
Das Programm strebt danach, die Diversität international agierender Künstler*innen abzubilden und einen Anteil der Geschlechter von 50/50 % zu erreichen.
